The Year of Lady Gaga
2016 has been one of the biggest years for one of the hottest pop stars on the planet, Lady Gaga. Indeed, she became the first artist to play the Grammy awards, the Super Bowl, and the Academy awards all within the same year, performed a critically-acclaimed tribute to David Bowie, won a Golden Globe for her breakout performance as the Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel, and has recently just put out a new single, Perfect Illusion, which topped the Billboard Top 100 List. Truly, these accomplishments were only the start, as she was nominated for many other awards and has just announced the title and release date of her highly anticipated new album, Joanne, due out October 21st. After a 3 year hiatus from pop music, Mother Monster is finally back in the game!
Over the years, Lady Gaga has certainly reinvented herself. Her music has constantly incorporated new sounds, A-list producers, and catchy lyrics. Without a doubt, 2016 exposed the true Lady Gaga, as she revealed in many interviews how this upcoming album is going to be very personal. This certainly shocked many, as they’re use to Lady Gaga spawning out dance tunes such as Just Dance, Telephone, and Poker Face. As an avid Lady Gaga fan, I’m happy to see how she’s maturing as an artist and will always support her on whatever journey she takes. At the end of the day, I can’t wait to hear the new sound of Lady Gaga on October 21st when Joanne drops!
