The reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians (KUWTK) has been around for nearly 14 years, with its very first episode airing  on October 14, 2007. It is confirmed that the longstanding show will be coming to an end in 2021. The 20 seasons have been centered on the Kardashian-Jenner family, who took us on a journey through their lives. The family consists of Kris, Kylie, and Kendall Jenner, as well as Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim Kardashian– who have announced on social media that the show will finally come to end.

Many ask: Why is it ending?

KUWTK has been around for a long time and a few members of the show no longer wanted to be a part of it. For example, Rob Kardashian left the show because he needed time for his mental health and because he had become a father during the production of the series. Kim stated that his attitude towards the production would constantly change, relaying that it would go from “I didn’t sign up for this” to “I’m cool with this.” After seven seasons, Rob finally left. Another member of the main cast– Kourtney– also did not want to continue anymore.

Kourtney Kardashian–the oldest sibling in the family– finally decided to leave the show in its current 20th season. Kourtney and her sister Kim got into a physical fight because Kim did not see Kourtney’s point of view on the continuation of the broadcast. Kourtney wanted to leave the show because she wanted to keep her personal life private. She started to get overwhelmed by the paparazzi that constantly surrounded her.

Kourtney stated at the beginning of the new season that she did not like being a celebrity. Kim, on the other hand, wanted to keep doing the show to bolster her businesses. Kim felt that Kourtney didn’t put in as much effort and the show got between them. As a result, Keeping Up With the Kardashians is finally coming to end in 2021.
