The Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel to the Hunger Games trilogy. The story follows young President Snow and shows how he works his way to a leadership position. The movie adapted the book perfectly. The actors were well chosen. Tom Blyth played a great young President Snow and was able to truly portray his quest for power. Rachel Zegler, as Lucy Gray Baird, expressed all of Lucy’s emotions perfectly both through acting and singing. All of the supporting characters acted amazingly as well and contributed to the movie’s success. The chosen actors and actresses brought the book to life in a brilliant way creating the perfect adaptation of the book.

This movie brought many people into the world of Panem showing how the world was before Snow took over as President. On Rotten Tomatoes, the audience ranked it at 89%. Many reviews expressed their love for the movie and how it was a great way to bring the characters to life. In all, this movie brought a book to life in a beautiful manner that helped give readers an image of what they read and gave non-readers a way to see how the Hunger Games were before Snow took control.
