This past summer, Mr. Zukatus and his friend Tom drove across the country from North Arlington to different destinations around the United States. Mr. Zukatus is a math teacher in North Arlington High School and teaches Geometry, Statistics, Algebra 2b, and HSPA math. Mr. Zukatus and Tom drove in their Sedan from North Arlington to Cleveland, Ohio, for their first stop. From there, they went to Bloomington, a city in Northern Indiana, and after their second major stop, they went to Mount Rushmore, then Seattle where they traveled down the west coast to the Grand Canyon. Dallas, Texas, was their next stop, and then they went to Memphis, Tennessee. After Tennessee, they went to New Orleans and then to Miami and started their way up to New Jersey while stopping in Atlanta and Washington D.C.
“I would do it again, but I would do it in sections and not all at once” said Mr. Zukatus. The trip started at noon on June 27th and ended 50 days later on August 16th at around 3pm. When asked about this experience, Mr. Zukatus stated that it was, “Great” and “I highly recommend for anyone to do this.” Mr. Zukatus’ favorite part of the entire trip was camping in Whitefish, Montana, seeing the Pacific, and hanging out in Miami. While on this adventure, Mr. Zukatus met many people, in fact, he still keeps in touch with a few. Journeys such as this one should be experienced more frequently by all of us!
