Mr. Mott has been a teacher for 33 years. He’s been a Science teacher in North Arlington high school for 31 years. Before teaching at our high school, Mr. Mott was an elementary Science teacher
in Bloomfield, Parsippany and Wilson. One of the quotes he likes to live by is, “It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice.” An interesting fact that the students and staff may not know about him is that he is very involved with his local community theatre. He is the producer for the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop that is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The South
Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop is a non-profit organization that receives grants from Middlesex County to produce its shows. They perform one musical per year – musicals that one could see on Broadway such as: Bye, Bye, Birdie, Oliver, The Sound of Music, Annie and many more.
Mr. Mott has been the president of the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop for the past 10 years. This community theater company is so outstanding that it has been nominated for the Perry
awards, which is an organization for community theaters. They have won many awards throughout the years, one of them being music best actor. Another fun fact about Mr. Mott is that he is a one man band called Bill Mott and he plays general dance music from the era of 1910 to contemporary – he uses an instrument called the Duo box. Mr. Mott is a great role model who can easily
balance his family, work and hobbies and be great at all.
