Mr. Necoechea has been a teacher in the science department at NAHS for many years. Growing up, Mr. Necocechea attended Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School and Drexel University in Pennsylvania. He then attended the University of Minnesota. Prior to teaching at North Arlington High School, he was a substitute teacher in Bound Brook and North Plainfield. He currently teaches Physics, Chemistry, and Exploring Science as well as being the advisor of NAHS’ very own Astronomy Club. When asked what his favorite subject to teach was Mr. Necoechea states, “Right now definitely Chemistry!”
In his spare time, he likes to try to play his guitar (emphasis on “try”), enjoys riding the stationary bike, watching movies with his wife, and likes his cat’s company as well. Mr. Necocechea currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. Advice Mr. Necocechea would give high school students who want to further a career in the science field would be, “Take lots of science classes in high school, don’t be afraid to double up. Also, take lots of math because you’re going to need that too and take it seriously, but not too seriously.” Mr. Necocechea is a teacher at NAHS who is devoted to his students.
