Lone Survivor is based on the failed mission known as “Operation Red Wings” that happened on June 28, 2005. The mission tasks four members of SEAL Team 10 to either capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd. Their mission fails when they are quickly compromised and under attack. This leads to an intense situation and all four of their lives are in great danger. So for two hours, we sit in a movie theater and watch how the mission ends up in a disaster.
Lone Survivor is a very good war flick that is intense throughout its runtime. It exceeded my expectations, and it turned out to be a lot better than what I anticipated. Mark Wahlberg and the rest of the supporting cast give great performances, and the battle sequences were done well. The director did an excellent job at making you feel as if you were in the war zone with these soldiers. Overall, I highly recommend that you watch Lone Survivor while it’s in theaters because it is one of the best war movies to come out in years!
