With the Oscars approaching quickly, it’s time to go to the theaters and catch up on some of the films nominated for Best Picture! The nominees this year for the Best Picture category are: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, Whiplash, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Having seen American Sniper, Boyhood, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash, I believe that the winner for the Best Picture Award is going to be Boyhood.
In the past years, there hasn’t been a closer race for the Best Picture Award than this year! All of the movies I saw that were nominated deserved the nomination, as they were all creative in their own ways. Out of the movies I saw, my personal favorite was American Sniper, as it recognized a real American hero. The movie was suspenseful and full of raw emotions.
As for Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role, I believe that Eddie Redmayne of TheTheory of Everything and Reese Witherspoon of Wild are going to win. Again, both movies were phenomenal and I’m glad that all of the actors and actresses in the category were recognized for all of the hard work that they put into their films. Hopefully, my predictions are true when The Oscars air on ABC on February 22nd. I will certainly be watching and routing for my favorite movies to win!
