On every fourth Thursday of November people all over the United States celebrate Thanksgiving. This holiday dates back to 1621 when Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared a harvest together during autumn. For more than two centuries, Thanksgiving was celebrated only by some states and colonies until 1863, when Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national holiday. Now, Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate and reflect on all of the things and people that give meaning to our lives.

Here are a few reasons why students from North Arlington High School are thankful:

Brendan Bartlett- I am thankful for all of my friends and family and for the great memories I have shared with them.

Mike Hislop- I am thankful for my home and my parents and sister.

Joe Abbazia- I’m thankful for my family, friends and health.

Brandon Scheer- I am thankful for my family, friends and everything I have.

Matt Piscal- I am thankful for my huge personality and my work ethic.

Ken Avery- I am thankful for my strong roots in the Asian-American based community.

Anthony DeMartino- I am thankful for my friends, family, and my job.

Dominik Navarro- I am thankful for my supportive friends and family.

Jeffrey Frytek- I am thankful for my health and supportive family and friends.

Gabe Fiore- I am thankful for my friends, family and my dogs, Rose & Julie.

Carlos Montero- I am thankful that it is my last year of high school.
