On Saturday, March 24 the North Arlington Vikings with Heart will be sponsoring a fundraiser to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This benefit is the start of the many fundraisers that the Vikings will be setting up in preparation for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in May. The students and staff of North Arlington High School have their eyes set on a very big goal for the relay this year. Last year alone, eighty students and staff members from North Arlington were able to raise over $5,000 for the cancer society. This year the Vikings with Heart Relay Teams aim to get
even more students involved and raise as much money as they possibly can to donate to the American Cancer Society.
The fundraiser that the Vikings with Heart Relay Teams will be holding is a Flapjack Breakfast at Applebee’s. From now until the day of the breakfast, students will be selling tickets for the breakfast at $10 each which includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and a beverage choice including coffee, juice, soda and tea. However, not only will the students be selling tickets and encouraging people to head over to Applebee’s they will also be volunteering as the servers, busers and seaters for the event. Mrs. Maresca, advisor of the National Honor Society, said, “I am looking forward to kicking off our Relay fundraisers.” So on March 24th, from 8-10am head on over to the Applebee’s in Kearny to support North Arlington High School in their journey to raise as much as possible for the American
Cancer Society.
