In preparation for this year’s Relay for Life, North Arlington High School not only had the Flapjack Breakfast at Applebee’s, but others as well. The school had a Hat Day fundraiser and a Jar Wars competition that just ended this week. In addition, those participating in the relay are currently selling T- shirts.
The T- shirts have the NAHS Logo “Vikings with Heart “- this has been our school symbol for Relay for the past few years. Long sleeve shirts cost $15 dollars and short sleeve shirts can be bought for $12 dollars each. Participants will also be selling luminarias.
The luminarias are simple white bags that are transformed and illuminated after dark at every local Relay for Life event. Each one is personalized with the name, photo, message or drawing in memory or honor of a friend or loved one who has been affected by cancer. These luminaries will be sold for ten dollars each and the buyer has the option of either decorating it or not. One of the teachers organizing the event, Mrs. Rosolen, said, “We’re encouraging everyone in the school to purchase a shirt or Luminaria.”
All of the funds raised by team members will be contributed to and benefit the Relay for Life American Cancer Society. Please show your support and contribute to this worthy cause. Remember that every penny counts and that no donation is ever too small!
