Last month, the NAHS band and NAHS chorus made a trip to Disney World to perform at one of the parks and also attend workshops. There were 106 people who went on this field trip this year – 96 students and 10 chaperones. The band and chorus traveled to Florida by taking a 22-hour bus ride. For some of the students, this was their first time at Disney World. Upon arrival, the students went to Blizzard Beach to beat the heat and have some fun in the water.
On the second day, the band and chorus members went to Epcot where the band and chorus went to separate workshops in the afternoon. The next day the kids were all especially excited – the itinerary for the day was to spend the morning in Magic Kingdom, then go to downtown Disney to perform and go back to Magic Kingdom to spend the rest of the day there.
The performances went very well. Both the band and chorus had amazing performances.
On the final day, the band and chorus members made their way to the Animal Kingdom where they stayed until late the afternoon. There, students got to ride the world famous Mount Everest, see many different animals and the tree of life located in the center of the park.
Students truly enjoyed the performances and spending time with each other. They arrived home with many souvenirs and countless memories.
