With AP exams quickly approaching, May 6-17, seniors and juniors are cracking down to prepare. Students pay $89 to take the test that will hopefully lead to college credit. The tests are scored from 1-5 and students annually report scores to over 3,800 colleges and universities. The College Board offers tests in 34 subject matters that do not require a course previous to the test. North Arlington High School offers 6 course selections that prepare students for the AP exam. These classes range throughout math, English, history, and science.
The week of exams can be stressful for upperclassmen who have prepared all year. Senior Amanda Awad has three AP exams to study for this year. Although a seasoned pro taking the AP Stats exam last year, she stated, “The tests can be very difficult!” Rebecca Filgueiras is taking two exams for the first time this year. She quoted, “I’ve studied hard and I’m sure I will be prepared.” Juniors are also offered advanced placement in classes such as Statistics, European History, and US History.
To all students taking the test, make sure to keep reviewing up until the test! Get a good night’s rest before your test and eat breakfast. With the classes offered and these key tips students have the formula of success for AP exams.
