HANDS Valentine’s Dance
Recently our school’s National Honor Society hosted the annual HANDS Valentine’s Day dance—a night of crafts, dancing and fun! The dance is held for members of the HANDS group, a local organization dedicated to helping disabled teens and adults. It is made possible by not only the HANDS group but the members of the National Honor Society as well. Though the night is coordinated by Mrs. Fitzgerald and Mrs. Kusher, the students of the NHS bring decorations and food, as well as help set up and clean up. The best part, of course, is the dance itself!
Typically, each student is paired with a teen or adult to enjoy the evening. There are craft tables and food but normally everyone gravitates towards the dancefloor. This year, DJ Moore was in charge and everyone, including the guests, loved the music! Not only is the dance a great time for those in the HANDS group but is also important and fun for the students as well. The annual dance is one of the highlights of the National Honor Society’s year of projects and this year’s dance was extremely successful.
