Cupcakes For Our Veterans
Veterans Day is a great time to honor the brave men and women who gave their service to our country. What better way to show appreciation than with cupcakes? The NAHS Culinary Club met a few days after the holiday and decided to make this idea happen to surprise the local veterans at the VFW on River Road.
Our club made around 40 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes from scratch and decorated them with homemade buttercream icing. We also used red and blue royal icing to decorate the cupcakes for the occasion with stars, stripes, and other designs. By the end of the day, the cupcakes were ready to be delivered and my mom and I dropped them off with perfect timing. We were told that the veterans would be meeting the next day, and that it would be a nice surprise for them afterword.
Overall, we had a really great time making and decorating the cupcakes. It felt rewarding to do something special for the veterans of our community and we hope they enjoyed the treats.
