What started as a cross-country trip organized by a couple, turned into a bloody murder. In June 2021, a famous travel influencer, Gabrielle Petito, more commonly known as Gabby Petito, and her fiancé Brian Laundrie, embarked on a journey across the United States. 

In the beginning of August, while on this journey, the couple was interrogated by the police in Utah about a physical altercation that the two had engaged in. In response, the couple was separated from each other for the night.  In late August, a report showed that another couple vacationing in Wyoming had allegedly seen the two involved in a “commotion” as they were leaving a restaurant. 

Worth noting is that Petito’s family was last in contact with her during the last week of August. In actuality, the family received a message from Gabrielle on August 30th; however, they do not believe that this message was sent by her. Prior to this last communication, Gabby is believed to have been in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On September 1st, Brian Laundrie returned alone to the couple’s North Port home, where his parents also live. 

On September 11th, after weeks of silence from Petito, her New York family reported her missing to the police. When the North Port authorities arrived at Laundrie’s home hoping to speak with him,  they were disappointed to only be greeted by his attorney. Another twist took place on September 17th as Laundrie’s family reported Brian missing. 

This led to the FBI conducting a search in the Grand Teton National Park searching for evidence relevant to the disappearance of Gabby. On the 19th of September, human remains were discovered, which proved to be those of Gabby Petito. As a result, this prompted an intensive search for Laundrie whose human remains were later found in Florida. 

We may never know the truth about their demise!
