Mid-Year Peer Advice
It’s that time of the year again! The weather is cold, the New Year is looming, and the second marking period is almost done; that means that halfway point of the school year is almost here. Now is a great time to reflect on the past four months, how did you do? Do you think that you could’ve have worked a little harder for that A or B? Or are you happy with the results? Ask these questions to yourself, and use your answers to set personal goals, whether it be getting all A’s or doing better in general.
Contrary to what many may think, it is never too late to get back on your feet, especially at the halfway mark. It may not be easy but it is very possible. Start with time management, calculate the time you must complete homework and the time it will take you to complete it. By doing this, you not only get your homework done but it is easier to find time for other things, such as spending time with friends; It is important to remember that homework isn’t a hindrance but something you get done earlier so you do have free time.
Another tip for athletes – try to find as much free time in the day to do homework, for instance your lunch period, so that you have more free time after practice and recuperate your stamina. Although New Year’s Resolutions are not always followed through on, a good one to fulfill is to challenge yourself for the second half of the school year and achieve nothing but success. Set your goals and work towards them, you will feel great once you accomplish them.
