The volleyball team’s season has sadly come to an end. For the seniors, this was their last hoorah, and they ended the season in a relatively positive way. In their last 3 games of the season, they beat Saddle Brook and Weehawken, and lost to St. Mary’s in three games. They finished with a record of 9-14, a big improvement from last year’s record of 2-19.
When asked how the season went, senior captain Katie Rouski stated, “We didn’t make the state tournament this year like we wanted to, but we played hard and finished the season strong.” This group of seniors is one of the biggest in years, and they were a strong force in winning games.
“We’re not too happy about missing states, but we tried our best throughout the season, and we became a big family,” said senior captain Mary Smykowski. The team quadrupled their wins total from last year, which shows that all the hard work and practice paid off. As the manager and statistician of the volleyball team for a few years now, I’m happy to say that the girls tried their best and truly had an impact on the underclassmen athletes of the team. I wish the volleyball team good luck for next season, and to the seniors, good job girls.
