February 19th marked the return of pitchers and catchers to the 2015 baseball training camp. This will be the first glimpse of our teams and their pitching rotations. We’ll also see how our catchers are shaping up in terms of their pitch selection and their location. It may take a few days for these players to shake off the rust, but teams and their fans will quickly see what the future has in store for them.
Some teams are looking like potential World Series contenders. Teams like the Blue Jays and Cardinals are gaining positive buzz, while established franchises and dynasties like the Yankees and the Red Sox have made little noise. The only news out of the Yankees’ camp continues to be Alex Rodriguez and his current state with the team. He offered a hand-written apology to the MLB, the Yankees, and the fans. Rodriguez expressed his deep regret by stating, “I accept the fact that many of you will not believe my apology or anything I say at this point. I understand why and that’s on me.” With this being the center of attention in the Yankees’ Universe, it’s safe to say that this spring training will be interesting. This year, we could even see some surprising teams shock the world and win it all. Only time will tell.
