The NFL Draft is upon us. On April 30, hundreds of men will hear their name called and they will begin their NFL careers. The biggest question in this year’s draft is: Who will take quarterback Marcus Mariota? He has been arguably the most sought after quarterback in recent memory. The teams that need quarterbacks are the Eagles, Jets, Redskins, and Titans. This means that all sorts of chaos could ensue in the Marcus Mariota sweepstakes. The Eagles could move up from number 20 to number 2 and pick up the quarterback or the Jets could take the chance of waiting until he falls to number six and draft him. The Titans could be aggressive and pick him up right away since they hold the 2nd overall pick. The Redskins could even move up a few spots to take him. We’ll have to see how all of these scenarios play out.
More importantly, the wide receiver class is promising for this draft. West Virginia’s Kevin White, and Missouri’s Dorial Green-Beckham, have been projected as the best wide receivers in this class. Big, athletic, strong, and fast receivers are needed in today’s world of football. These two will fly off the board fairly quickly judging by the mock drafts. The running back class is also important to note this year. Georgia’s Todd Gurley, Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon, and Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah, are all highly talented, powerful running backs who can light up score boards in a hurry. With their strength and quickness, all of them have potential to go in the first round. We’ll just have to see how this all unfolds on April 30.
