The New England Patriots created a dynasty and dominated the NFL for two decades. During their dynasty they have appeared in 9 Super Bowls and won 6. They were led by Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick. Now that legendary quarterback Tom Brady is retired, all that’s left from the historic dynasty is coach Belichick. However, the past couple of seasons have been rather rough for him – missing the playoffs for the past 2 years and only making the playoffs once since Tom left. The New England Patriots currently have a record of 2-6 in the 2023-2024 season.
If this team keeps struggling they are sure to miss the playoffs. People are now questioning what to do about New England. It appears that Bill Belichick is in the hot seat to many sports enthusiasts. It seems that his coaching methods are no longer working and that football has moved past him. The team was shut out 34-0 at home; experiencing the worst loss in Bill’s long NFL career. One of the most notable people to question if Bill is still the right coach for the New England Patriots is Tedy Bruschi, a former Patriot linebacker who won 3 superbowls with the New England dynasty.
Tedy’s statement on the situation on Bill was staid on the ESPN show “Get Up” saying, “I think Bill Belichick is considering it, and I also think Robert Kraft is the one that has to start to consider if it is time to move on”. In short the New England Patriots are not living up to their past success and the challenges of a post Tom Brady era. Bill will continue the scrutiny as the team’s struggles continue and the questions about the future of the franchise will continue to be asked.
