Our own Freshman Girls’ Volleyball team made N.A. history after being the first team to compete in an out-of-county tournament.
The tournament was held at Madison High School in Morris County with a total of eight competing teams. N.A. won three straight-set matches until their unfortunate, but close, defeat in the Semifinals, earning them third place in the gold bracket.
Their first game of the day was against New Providence and ended in a win with two straight sets of 25-19 and 25-16. Second came their game against Madison, the host, which was another victory for N.A. with two straight wins of 25-13 and 25-10. The third game, against Morris Catholic, gave another victory to N.A. with perfect sets of 25-10 and 25-8, bringing North Arlington to the semi finals in the gold bracket.
Unfortunately, their winning streak ended early during their match with Villa Walsh that only consisted of one set with a final score of 26-24. This put North Arlington in third place in the gold bracket, Villa Walsh second, and Morristown first.
Ending with an impressive rank, the freshman team continues to show promise in their abilities, hopefully leading up to a great season next fall in JV.
