The 59th Super Bowl was played on Sunday, February 9, 2025, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. They played in New Orleans at the Saints home stadium, Caesars Superdome.
The Super Bowl ended with the Philadelphia Eagles winning, 40 to 22, but it was not as interesting of a game as many hoped. In anticipation of the game, many thought the Chiefs would win, but they seemed to lose their spark as the game went on. They made many mistakes that helped the Eagles prevail, but a few standout players helped seal the Eagles’ victory: MVP Jalen Hurts, Rookie Cooper DeJean, Saquon Barkley, and more.
The halftime show was performed by Kendrick Lamar, with SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard making an appearance. Kendrick Lamar put on an enjoyable performance with many symbolic moments. The most noticeable was having Samuel L. Jackson dressed as Uncle Sam. Lamar wanted his performance to mean something and it did.
The Super Bowl was as big of an event as it always is. Many celebrities were in attendance and viewership went up 3% from last year. With a break from the Chief’s winning cycle, hopefully the next season is just as intense as this one.
