This year, Ms. Dujack’s and Mrs.Branco’s art classes went on a trip to Medieval Times. On May 3rd, a total of 21 students attended the trip, Mr. Farinola and Mrs Dujack attending as chaperones. At Medieval Times, the students went through the “dungeon” – it showed different devices that were used during that time period. After that, the class waited to be called to take their seats. The class sat in the green section of the stadium like area.
During the show, a live falcon flew around the stadium while students sat and waited for the typical medieval dishes to be served. Once served, all of the food was eaten without any utensils. Students also had an opportunity to speak with some of the knights about their weapons, attire and lifestyles of the medieval period. After completing a brief quiz, students began enjoying the tournament which was won by the green knight.
As a follow-up project, the students designed their own family crests.
This trip was certainly enjoyed by all of the art students. They were delighted by all of the information, weapons and intricate costumes of the medieval period.
