Recently, the N. A. H. S. drama club announced this year’s school musical: 9 to 5! With music and lyrics written by Dolly Parton, the musical is sure to be one full of many laughs and surprises. The musical is based off a movie created in the 80s but actually takes place in the 70s. In a nutshell, the musical covers the revenge of three unlikely and unique women on their sexist boss by taking over his office. In doing so, each woman learns something about herself and accomplishes things that she never believed she could achieve. Simultaneous to this self discovery is the creation of a strong friendship among all three women. Due to the trio’s varied personalities, people of all kinds can identify with each character in their own way. “It’s a great show” said this year’s director, Mrs. Branco.
Though no audition dates have been concretely posted, students are already buzzing about possible casting and audition materials they will be practicing. “I’m very excited to see how this year’s casting will go; it’s always interesting to see who gets what part” said active drama club member, Michael Stringham. This upbeat and fun musical holds much promise to exceed everyone’s expectations and set the caliber from last year’s show even higher. “I’m sure the play this year will surpass all expectations” stated Sara Rozycki- a fellow senior and thespian. If interested in becoming a member of the drama club make sure to see one of the advisors as soon as possible.
