On Wednesday, December 12th, the Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) hosted a holiday movie night. The movie was Home Alone, a classic Christmas movie from 1991. Many S.A.D.D. members helped run the movie night, including project managers, Yara Alrabba and Erin O’Neill. Admission was free, and S.A.D.D. had a bake sale with all sorts of goodies to raise some money for the club. Junior and new S.A.D.D. member Angelica Asuzano had this to say about the event, “I think it’s good that we can have movie nights like this, and it’s good that all students can participate in them.”
While waiting for everyone to get into the cafeteria for the movie, casual music was being played from YouTube and Pandora. This music had a relaxing tone for all of the students, and it left time for students to converse before the movie started. Home Alone started around 7pm, and ended around 9. S.A.D.D. president Stephanie Cervino was very pleased with how it went, “I think that we will be having these movie nights frequently to get students to participate in after school activities, and to try to raise money for our club.” Mrs. Fuller and Miss McEntee, the S.A.D.D. and Interact club advisors were also happy with the outcome of the movie night and are excited for the next one.
