On November 21st, the second annual alumni volleyball game at NAHS took place. The varsity and starting JV took on the past members of the volleyball team. It featured the return of many old faces for the alumni. Some of the players were teachers from the district, other members of staff and even the girl’s coach. It was a good chance for the girls to play against their instructor. This game was set to have college rules, making the game be a set out of five, instead of the usual three.
The scores were close the whole time. The first set went to the varsity girls, but the second was won back by the alumni. The same thing happened again for the third and fourth set, first the varsity, then the alumni. Reaching the fifth round, it was anyone’s game. The tension rose as the score was still very near. In the end, the alumni took the win with a very close game, but the ending results were 2-3. Even though the varsity girls lost, they really showed effort and it was a terrific way to play together on the court as a team one last time.
