On November 24th, the annual Student Council Volleyball Tournament commenced. The North Arlington High School gym was teeming with energy! During the first round, two teams played to ten points using regular volleyball rules. As the winning teams advanced, there was an intermission for a pie eating contest. As people ravenously ate the pies, the audience and the teams were getting ready for the second round. Teams played to fifteen points. After a while, it came down to the final two teams: The Math Debaters and The 280 Crew.
Last year, The 280 Crew won the volleyball tournament, so they gained the title of the undefeated champions. The Math Debaters put up a fight, though, as the final round was neck to neck. The teams had to play to twenty-five, and win by two points. Towards the end, The Math Debaters lost control and The 280 Crew started to gain the lead. In the end, The 280 Crew got to keep their title as the undefeated champions. I hope next year’s tournament is as intense as this one was!
