The 3rd Annual Hayden’s Heart Run/Walk took place on Saturday, March 7, at Riverside County Park. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to take part in such an astonishing event. Everyone had a great time as the event was filled with music, food, activities, and friendly people. It warmed my heart to see students, teachers, and other members of the community united as one against Congenital Heart Defect. Volunteers and runners undoubtedly helped raise awareness for the disease and increase the foundation’s funds.
Despite the frigid weather, the turnout of the 5k was amazing. I have never seen so many people joined together for one cause. While I witnessed people cross the finish line, their faces were filled with joy as they completed a race for a great cause. Being at this race has shown me the great power that North Arlington’s community holds. If you didn’t attend this year, be sure to be a participant next year!
