Game Design Club’s New Game in Development!
Game Design Club, a student-run organization that is only in its second year, has already begun development of a new game! The club, run by President Umair Khan and Vice President Nicholas Capone, is essentially its own development team, making sprites, creating artwork, coding, and forming ideas for what their game would be about. The previous year, the club created their first game, a fun collider game by the name of Rammer’s Delight. Following the tournament held last year, development on the newest project, which remains unnamed, began early this school year.
The game currently in development, as described by the team behind it, is a turn based fighting game, along the lines of the Mario and Luigi style of play. In it, players will be able to choose from a variety of characters and stages, all of which made by students. The characters will then be pitted against each other in a turn based battle, a list of commands available to be used against a player’s opponent.
Prospects for the future burn really bright, as said by President Umair Khan, “This year, we have a solid foundation of freshmen that are working so hard with the music and the art, which was the hardest part of last year; they are dependable. I can depend on them to make success, now it’s only down to me and the other coders to finish off the project.” Altogether, Game Design Club’s future shines brighter than ever!
