Katie Rouski is currently a senior at NAHS. She is an outstanding athlete playing volleyball, basketball and softball. Throughout high school, she has taken all honors courses. This year, she is in AP Literature, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics. When asked about her favorite subjects, she stated, “I generally like math and science classes.” She is also involved in multiple extracurricular activities. Among these are activities such as: Student Council, Drama club, and the Anti-Bullying committee. Katie was also in band for 3 years.
In her free time, Katie does some volunteer work. She volunteers for an organization called ‘Special Angels’. She coaches T-ball, basketball, and soccer. When asked what she’s passionate about in life, she stated, “Having fun, friends, and family.” Her favorite high school memory thus far occurred during her junior year during a softball team in a game against Becton. She hit two homeruns that day, one of them being a grand slam. She was later honored in the Observer by being named athlete of the week.
In college, Katie would like to major in political science and also look into a pre-law program. In the future, she would like to be a prosecutor or an assistant district attorney which, she added, is the “technical term.” The motto she lives by is a quote by Henry Ford stating, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re probably right.”
