Mary Smykowski is a senior involved in many sports. She plays volleyball, basketball, and track for North Arlington High School. Last year, she broke the school record for track and she stated, “It felt great how I accomplished something like this, I’m looking forward to break another record.” Mary is one of the volleyball team’s captains this year. In addition to enjoying sports, Mary truly likes science. She stated that, “Anything that has something to do with science is interesting.”
During her free time, she hangs out with her friends, plays sports, listens to music, and goes shopping. She also volunteers some of her time to help some children in Lyndhurst with Judo. Mary would like to major in special education when she goes to college. Therefore, she is looking for a college that will guarantee her success in that field. Mary is planning to apply to New Jersey City University, Caldwell college, Montclair State University and William Paterson. Mary also intends to play volleyball in college. Mary’s favorite motto is, “Don’t take life for granted.”
