Senior Rebecca Filgueiras has been extremely successful over her four years at North Arlington High School. Her final year has been going well, but has her scared about the future. Rebecca even said, “It’s scary to see myself as a senior already.” However she is excited to start the next chapter of her life. Rebecca is planning on attending either Rutgers or Ramapo. She is interested in a variety of majors including psychology, social work, and journalism. She is looking forward to finding her independence and making new friendships. However she will miss seeing her best friends everyday and the close ties she has built with teachers. In 10 years Rebecca hopes to be starting her career and working on her PhD. She enjoys traveling and hopes to continue in her future.
In her senior year, Rebecca is enjoying working on the spring musical, “9 to 5”. She is going out with a bang after four years, playing the lead Judy. Although it has been extremely time consuming Rebecca mentioned it was worth every second. When she’s not performing, you can find her running around the school, actively involved in clubs and activities. Rebecca is the president of National Honor Society and vice president of Student Council. She loves helping out the school and different organizations through these groups. She plans on staying involved with charity work as she grows up.
In her very little spare time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her friends and boyfriend. Individually she loves reading and is an avid movie enthusiast. She idolizes Lucille Ball because of her ability to find humor in any situation. As a hopeless optimist, Rebecca will continue to live out this life style. She lives by the quote, “When it’s dark enough, you can see the stars.” Rebecca will continue to shine past graduation!
