Over the past four years at North Arlington High School, Mackenzie Cutruzzula has definitely proven to be a student capable of outstanding achievements both in and out of the classroom. In addition to ranking number four out of her entire class, Mackenzie has also been playing soccer, basketball, and track for four years and is also captain of all three sports. Mackenzie is also a member of the National Honor Society, class of 2013 president, an editor of the Viking Saga, and has previously participated in chorus and the drama club. In between practices and studying, Mackenzie enjoys spending her free time with her friends and boyfriend, reading, watching movies, and shopping. When asked how senior year is going, she emphatically responded, “It’s going well but way too fast!”
Next year Mackenzie hopes to attend the University of Maryland, Syracuse, Villanova, or The College of New Jersey and major in journalism. She also added, “My dream job would definitely be to work at a magazine, like Seventeen.” When asked if she lived by any quotes, one by Taylor Swift quickly came to mind, “Being fearless isn’t being 100% not fearful, it’s being terrified but you jump anyway.” In ten years, Mackenzie hopes to be a journalist living outside the city, married, and with a puppy. Before parting, Mackenzie also offered these words of advice for the underclassmen of North Arlington High School, “Never settle for anything less than your best.”
