Sophomore basketball standout Edgar Carranza describes himself as “humble” while “respectable”. As a new student at NAHS, Edgar states that Mr. Rapp is without a doubt his favorite teacher, because he feels like he genuinely understands his class. Edgar starts on the boys’ basketball team and as of February 25th, 2014, he has reached 208 varsity career points. Coach Corsetto describes Edgar as, “A great kid; he works hard and is very respectful…he knows how to listen to directions and does a great job.”
As an underclassman, Edgar is largely undecided about his future, but is certain he wants sports to remain a part of his life. He describes his mother as his hero, and someone he can always depend on. To his class, he states “I do it for you!”, and advises freshmen to “Keep their heads in the books and get involved.”
