This month the spotlight is on Nya Mcintosh. She is currently a freshman here at North Arlington High School. Although it is her first year, she already has an idea on what she wants to do with her career. Nya wants to become a veterinarian and graduate from San Diego University. She is a member of the drama club and has interest in playing softball or track this year.
When she’s not busy with school work, Nya loves to relax and watch Teen Wolf. She stated that she has all the seasons on DVD and that it will always be her favorite show. On December 13, 2014 she attended the Millions March in NYC. She said, “When I first got there, I was amazed and I didn’t expect so many people.” As the protest began, she held a sign that read, “I can’t breathe” and marched with a diverse group of people that had the same respect and mind-set on how this world should be run.
Later on, Nya was leading the way. She is only 14 years old and already has the courage to go out and fight for her rights and for the ones of those who cannot do so. She is certainly a hard-working student and we will gladly be hearing her name more often in years to come.
