Jillian DeMaio is currently a senior at NAHS. She moved to North Arlington in second grade and is involved in many extracurricular activities and programs. Jillian is the founder of the Book Club, the editor of the Viking Saga, a member of the Student Council, the SADD/Interact Program, and the Freshmen Mentor Program. Additionally, she holds the position of Parliamentarian in the National Honor Society.
As editor of the school newspaper, Jillian notes the most significant part of her position is being able to edit writers’ work and forward the articles to the advisors promptly. She values all of her extracurricular activities equally. She affirms that they are all noteworthy because they help to improve the Viking community and make NAHS an enjoyable environment for students, including herself.
Aside from her dedication to extracurriculars, Jillian is a well-rounded student with many academic achievements. Jillian is motivated to attend school every day to learn something new. Moreover, she enjoys spending time with her friends at school. She is enrolled in AP Calculus, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Computer Science Principles.
Jillian is also involved in the Bergen Community College (BCC) Program. Jillian considers her acceptance into the BCC Program and excelling in it her proudest moment in high school. Her favorite subject of her senior year is AP Calculus, but her favorite subject throughout high school is pre-calculus. After graduation, Jillian plans to attend college and major in a STEM field.
Jillian enjoys many hobbies outside of school, which include watching movies and television shows. She enjoys spending time with her friends after school and on the weekends. Jillian deeply values her family and friends, especially for the support they provide her in everything she does and the motivation they give her to become the best version of herself.
