Real Vikings Wear Pink 2016
Did you know that according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime? North Arlington High school held the annual Student Council awareness day, “Real Vikings Wear Pink” on Friday, October 21, 2016. Students and faculty wore pink shirts, pants, pins, socks, shoes, and much more to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Truly, we all came together as a school and displayed our support for this cause that is, “the second leading cause of cancer death among women” (National Breast Cancer Foundation). This year, the Student Council raised $538.58 for the American Cancer Society, meeting their goal topping the $480 raised last year!
Truly, we would like to give a shout-out to Mrs. Dembowski for organizing this spectacular day. Real Vikings Wear Pink was a true success. In addition, we would like to thank all of the students and faculty members who participated and donated money for this cause. Lastly, we would like to thank Mr. Mingoia for encouraging students to display their Viking pride by participating in this event. Hopefully, we can break the record again next year!
