Weehawken’s Marching Band Festival
On Sunday November 6th, our school’s band season came to an end, but not without one final, amazing show. Around 1:30 in the afternoon, NAHS marching band and color guard arrived at the Weehawken Field to perform at the annual Marching Band Festival. Throughout the afternoon, around ten high school marching bands from around the area participated in this exciting festival by performing their show in front of an audience, including the other bands, and a panel of judges. Since the performance was being judged, the band felt a new kind of nervousness before their show, yet afterwards the band was joyful.
Although it was the last performance, everyone was happy because it was by far one of the best out of the entire season. On the whole, the band did not have the easiest season but their work paid off in the end. The grand finale was the Weehawken Marching Band performance and they were a great ending to a very successful festival. Afterwards, each band was awarded a trophy for participation. All in all, the Weehawken experience was a success. The success of the band was made possible under the guidance of the band director Mr. Kastner, Mrs. Corcoran, guard director Tara, and the senior drum majors Luis Moco and Alex Ruiz.
