Broadway’s Disney Magic Comes to NAHS

The NAHS Drama Club held a production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The story followed the classic tale of a cursed prince who was transformed into a beast for his selfish tendencies. In order to regress the spell, the prince must earn the love of a woman who sees through his beastly appearance. The cast was led by Brianna Balugas as Belle, Ben Soden as the Prince/Beast, and Jacob Rytelewski as Gaston. With elaborate costumes, intricate set designs, and passionate singing, the actors truly gave it their all in this performance. Mrs. Branco told the audience that in the nine years she has been involved with the NAHS Drama Club this musical had the most set designs and costumes than all of the previous productions she directed. That, in itself, was an exciting feat!

Without a doubt, all of the actor and actresses’ hard work was evident in their performance. In addition, the crew’s hard work was evident, as the sets, lights, and costumes dazzled the audience. They all portrayed their characters with complete conviction, which allowed the audience to immerse themselves in the world of the characters. They truly brought the script to life on stage, and the audience was completely enthralled at their work! As a senior, this was my last year in Drama Crew. Although I am sentimental that it was my last year, I will always cherish the wonderful memories I made!
