North Arlington High School presented its clubs and sports on November 21, 2024. This presentation was for the incoming freshmen and 7th graders of Veterans Middle School. The clubs were in the cafeteria, while the sports stayed in the gym. The NAHS clubs include: Astronomy Club, Athletic Council, Band & Choir, Chess Club, Class Executive Boards, Culinary Club, Drama Club, Environmental Club, Freshman Mentor Program, Game Design Club, GSA, Math Club, Multicultural Club, National Honor Society, Newspaper (The Viking Saga), Robotics Team, SADD Interact, Spanish Honor Society, Student Council & Student Government, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Yearbook. When the freshmen arrive in the fall they are encouraged to join: Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Marching Band & Color Guard, Soccer, or Volleyball. All sports and clubs welcome everyone!
Many sports and clubs had unique and creative visual posters and banners. Clubs represented what they were, what they did, and other important information about their club or sport. Many groups had flyers with information or a QR code. Others handed out fun activities; Mrs.Turano, who was there for the Italian Honor Society, handed out coloring activities.
Each club utilized different ways of persuading its audience. For example, the NAHS band performed what they learned to play. The cheerleaders also set up a photo banner and cheered people entering and leaving the high school. Many of the athletes and club members also wore their apparel. The cheerleaders wore their traditional bows, while others wore clothing stating their extracurricular.
Altogether, the 2024 Fall Showcase was successful! Many of the incoming middle schoolers showed interest in everything offered. The clubs and sports grabbed everyone’s attention, including family members and friends. The future freshmen will definitely have a myriad of extracurricular activities available to them!
